AutoCAD Set Text Style LISP: Pick a Text to Make It Current
Sets the current text style to the style of the text you pick.
STYLEPICKLoad the downloaded .lsp file with the APPLOAD command in AutoCAD or GstarCAD, then type the command name. How to load a LISP file
Download all tools in one file (138 KB)STYLEPICK is an AutoCAD set text style LISP. Click any text in the drawing and its style becomes the current text style (TEXTSTYLE), so new text is created in that style.
In drawings with many styles, especially ones received from others, finding out which style a text uses and picking it from the list takes time. STYLEPICK turns that into a single click. Tools on this site such as TXTSEQ, TXTCOLUMN, TXTIMPORT and TXTCENTER use the current style too, so it is handy to run it before them.
How to use it
- Load the file with APPLOAD and type STYLEPICK.
- Click the text whose style you want to use.
- Check the current text style name shown on the command line.
Notes and tips
- TEXT, MTEXT and attribute definitions (ATTDEF) are supported; clicking an attribute inside a block or a dimension does not pick up a style.
- Only the style name becomes current; the picked text's height and layer are not copied.
- Existing texts are not changed; to restyle many texts at once, use the Style option of TXTMOD.
