The AutoCAD REVCLOUD command draws a revision cloud, a chain of connected arcs that marks the parts of a drawing that changed. It is the standard way to flag revisions for review.
You can draw the cloud as a rectangle, a polygon or freehand, or convert an existing circle, ellipse or polyline into a cloud. The result is a polyline.
How to use it
- Type REVCLOUD at the command line and press Enter.
- Choose R (Rectangular), P (Polygonal) or F (Freehand).
- Pick the corners, or move the cursor around the area to draw the cloud.
- To convert an existing object, choose O (Object) and select it.
Options
- Arc length (A)
- Sets the approximate length of the arcs in the cloud.
- Object (O)
- Converts a selected closed object into a revision cloud.
- Rectangular / Polygonal / Freehand
- Chooses how the cloud outline is drawn.
- Style (S)
- Chooses Normal or the brush-like Calligraphy style.
- Modify (M)
- Redraws part of an existing cloud.
Notes and tips
- If the arcs look too large or too small for your drawing scale, change the Arc length.
- Keep clouds on a dedicated revision layer so you can hide them easily.
- Use MLEADER to add a revision number or note next to the cloud.
