The AutoCAD DONUT command draws a filled ring from an inside and outside diameter. Set the inside diameter to 0 and you get a solid filled circle, a quick way to draw connection dots and markers in schematics.
A donut is a closed polyline with width. You can place as many donuts of the same size as you like before ending the command.
How to use it
- Type DONUT or DO and press Enter.
- Enter the inside diameter (0 for a solid dot).
- Enter the outside diameter.
- Pick the center point; you can place several.
- Press Enter to finish.
Options
- Inside diameter
- Inner diameter of the ring; 0 creates a solid dot.
- Outside diameter
- Outer diameter of the ring.
- FILLMODE
- System variable that controls whether the fill is shown; at 0 only the outline appears.
Notes and tips
- After changing FILLMODE, run REGEN to update existing donuts.
- Donuts are polylines, so you can change their width later with PEDIT.
