How to Load LISP in GstarCAD: APPLOAD and Automatic Loading

GstarCAD loads LISP files with the same APPLOAD command as AutoCAD.

Does GstarCAD support LISP?

Yes. To load LISP in GstarCAD you use the same APPLOAD command and the same .lsp files as in AutoCAD. eplisp tools are written to work in both AutoCAD and GstarCAD, so there is no separate download for GstarCAD.

Loading with APPLOAD

When an eplisp file loads, it prints [eplisp] loaded. Commands: ... at the command line. If you see that line, the commands are ready to use.

  • Type APPLOAD at the command line and press Enter.
  • In the dialog, browse to the folder with your .lsp file.
  • Select the file and click Load.
  • Close the dialog and check the message at the command line.

Loading from the command line

You can also type a load expression at the command line. Use forward slashes in the path.

(load "C:/eplisp/boq.lsp")

Loading automatically at startup

If you do not want to load the file in every drawing, use the Startup Suite in the APPLOAD dialog. Click Contents..., use Add... to put your .lsp file on the list, and close the dialog.

Do not move the file after adding it. GstarCAD looks for it at the path you added.

Troubleshooting

The full list of command names is shown on each tool's page and at the command line when the file loads.

  • If you get an unknown command message, the file is not loaded in this drawing; load it again.
  • The English file defines English command names (BOQ, LOADSCHED); the Turkish file defines Turkish ones (KESIF, YUKCEL).
  • If a tool behaves unexpectedly in GstarCAD, reload the file and try again.
