Draws a multiline made of several parallel lines in one command.

- English name
- Multiline
The AutoCAD MLINE command draws two or more parallel lines at once. It is used to sketch walls, roads and ducts quickly in architectural and site drawings.
The number of lines, their offsets, colors and linetypes are defined in a multiline style managed with MLSTYLE. The default STANDARD style has two lines, and their spacing is multiplied by the Scale value.
Use MLEDIT to clean up tees, corners and crossings. If you need more flexible editing, EXPLODE the multiline into individual lines.
How to use it
- Type MLINE or ML and press Enter.
- Set the justification with J and the scale (line spacing) with S.
- Pick the start point and the following points.
- Press Enter to finish, or type C to close.
Options
- Justification (J)
- Places the cursor on the Top, Zero (center) or Bottom of the multiline.
- Scale (S)
- Multiplies the offsets in the style; with STANDARD it equals the distance between the lines.
- STyle (ST)
- Chooses the multiline style by name.
- Close (C)
- Closes the multiline back to its start point.
- Undo (U)
- Removes the last segment.
Notes and tips
- The default scale is 20; set Scale first if you are not drawing 20-unit walls.
- Use the tools in the MLEDIT dialog to clean up wall corners and intersections.
- Multilines can't be edited directly with TRIM or FILLET, which is why many users prefer OFFSET or EXPLODE.
